This has to be one of the biggest questions our clients ask us: ‘Is there a waterpark in Cabo?’ Well, I have some good news! Newly opened this week is Aqua-World Cabo– a massive, fun-filled waterpark right in the heart of Cabo San Lucas.
Aqua-World Cabo is located right in front of Medano Beach by Villa del Arco and Club Cascadas.
If approaching Cabo from San Jose del Cabo, arriving at the main intersection (just past Walmart), take a left and the water park is located right after Puerta Cabos Village condos. Aqua-World Cabo is situated on the right-hand side.
Aqua-World Cabo’s Opening Hours
This awesome Cabo waterpark opening hours are currently 10:30am to 5:30pm, Tuesday through Sunday. (The waterpark is closed on Mondays) Opening hours may change on the season, dependent on daylight savings. Safety is of the utmost importance at Aqua-World Cabo, so opening hours will be adjusted to ensure full visibility.
Fully Trained Staff
All staff at this waterpark in Cabo are CPR certified and fully trained in emergency evacuations, should the need arise. Weekly training with staff is mandatory, and its standard policy that untrained members of staff do not operate any of the activities. The water throughout the water park is tested daily, with fresh flowing water passing throughout the entire park. There’s also a paramedic on site for emergencies.
It can’t be overstated that the team at Aqua-World Cabo are 100% vigilant when it comes to safety and training procedures.
Safety & Vigilance
Aqua-World Cabo waterpark is not just compliant with all health and safety procedures, but they are also working with local hospitals should an unforeseen emergency arise. Being that this waterpark is the first of its kind in Cabo, it’s fair to say that its owners have been hyper-focused on ensuring that it’s a safe and super fun place to bring children to. Each piece of equipment is sterilized daily to ensure maximum hygiene.
Parking At The Waterpark In Cabo
Locals and tourists can come to the park on foot or in a car. Paid parking is located right next to the waterpark in what’s known as an ‘arroyo’, located in between Villa del Arco and Club Cascadas. Once you’ve parked your car, Aquaworld’s entrance is only a short walk away.
Easy Check-in & Pricing For Locals & Tourists
All visitors check into the park at a booth right at the entrance.
Standard prices are as follows:
$695 pesos for adults or children per day pass
People aged 16 years or older are considered adults
Local pricing STA
These prices are for all-day access and can be purchased in advance. Which means you can enter the Cabo waterpark at 10.30am and leave for an hour in the middle of the day, then return later in the afternoon should you wish. Your hand will be stamped should you opt to do this, so the staff knows that you’ve already paid in full.
The owners of Aqua-World Cabo have thought of everything when it comes to this waterpark. There’s an awesome gift shop that sells sunblock, essentials and even beach toys. All you need to do is show up with your towels.
The Waterpark Strategy
Once your family has checked into Aquaworld, it’s game on for fun! The entire waterpark is covered in AstroTurf, making it oh-so kid friendly. Upon entering this veritable water wonderland, to the left is a great photo opportunity inside a huge snow globe. To the right is the gift shop.
One of our personal favorite parts of the park is the awesome little kids’ area, where sandboxes and little baby blowups are waiting for kids aged three and under.
The 3 Biggest Attractions
Beyond that, the biggest attractions at the waterpark are the three huge water slides. One is a super-fast three-lane slide. The next is the Dropkick which hurtles you up in the air and lands you on an enormous inflatable pillow. And the third is called the 130 ft slide – it’s a 130-meter drop - people go flying down this one with tubes.
While these rides will obviously have height restrictions, they are suitable for kids that have full parental permission and nerves of steel!
And of course, big old adult-size kids can use these attractions too! It’s also worth mentioning users of these 3 rides do have to climb stairs to a significant height to use them, so if you’re not a fan of heights, you may be better to stay on the ground!
A Gargantuan Waterpark
This brand-new waterpark in Cabo opened this week and is approximately 150,000 square-feet – or in other words, the size of several football fields! It is absolutely HUGE!
Benches are located throughout the waterpark for families to use, the restaurant is full of family-style picnic tables with umbrellas for shade. This ensures that families can enjoy a delicious meal no matter what time of year it is!
One of our favorite parts of the waterpark is the above ground pool. This 4-foot deep pool is super family friendly and also doubles up as an obstacle course!
Lounging & Amenities Galore
We’re happy to report that there are sun loungers throughout Aquaworld. If you really want to take your day at this awesome Cabo waterpark to the next level, then you can rent one of the 10 private cabanas available for the whole day! VIP waiters are there to serve all visitors renting a private cabana!
Restrooms are readily available at the waterpark and families can also pay $100 pesos for a locker to store their valuables.
Aqua-World Cabo is designed to cater to birthday parties – what an incredible spot to host a party!
Family Owned Operation
As a Mompreneur, I have to say that one of my favorite things about Aquaworld is the fact that it’s owned by families. These families have been long-standing members of the Cabo community for many years. They deeply care about this Cabo waterpark and intend on using this new venture to consistently give back to the community. Given the size of the waterpark, it’s also neat to know that so many jobs will be created as a result of its opening.
Fun For The Whole Family
Aquaworld was designed to ensure that every member of the family has fun. That includes teenagers, grandparents, parents, and babies.
Upon first glance, a parent may think that Aquaworld may not be appropriate for little children because everything is inflatable. But rest assured, each ride is made of industrial fabrics – built to last and withstand a whole lot of bouncing!
There’s a huge jumping area for children aged two and under; filled with mini jumpers, mazes, play, and sandboxes.
Parents – there’s even an area to get massages at the waterpark!
Food & Beverages
Aquaworld has kiosks filled with snacks and beverages, in addition to the main restaurant where you’ll find all the refreshments you need. The waterpark restaurant has three different sections: one for slushies, one for smoothies and mocktails the final part is the main dining area.
Currently, Aquaworld does not hold a liquor license (I will update this post when that changes so parents know when they can enjoy a Pacifico!).
In addition to this mega-park, there are dry-play areas. Aquaworld recommends that families come with socks to use on the dry bouncy areas or in the rock-climbing area. There’s even an area with 3 balls where you can jump from one ball to the other – talk about American Ninja! For the thrill-seekers out there, Aquaworld also has its own version of a riding bull: the riding shark!
Wheelchair users are very welcome at the waterpark, but it’s important to note that some of the park attractions are not suitable for people with disabilities.
